District Closing Elementary School, Raising Property Taxes

VERMILION COUNTY- Georgetown-Ridge Farm school board members voted Monday to close the Ridge Farm Elementary school and increase the property tax levy by 14.03 percent.

It's a part of an initiative to close the district's $1.1 million deficit.

Ridge Farm locals are outraged. Village President Sharon Simmons says residents "deserve better."
