Crime Stoppers seeks information about attempted armed robbery


SANGAMON COUNTY - Crime Stoppers of Sangamon and Menard Counties is asking for your help to help solve an attempted armed robbery case in Springfield.

Police say the incident occurred at 1134 E. South Grand at 9:45 PM on November 10. The suspect apparently watched the victim leave a store and attacked her by her vehicle.

The victim was struck in the head and knocked to the ground. The suspect then demanded money.

The victim ran back into the store while the suspect fled.

The suspect was described as an African American man in his twenties and weighed approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black mask and was approximately 5'9" tall.

Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 788-8427. You could get a cash reward of up to $1000 for information that leads to an arrest.
