Police still looking for murder suspect

Decatur IL – Leads on the murder of Isaiah Wiley are still coming in.

Police are asking anyone with information on a definitive suspect to come forward. A 25,000 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction will be given.

On Wednesday Lowell Turner, 34, was released from the custody of the Macon County Sheriff.

In a joint news release from the Decatur Police Department and the State's Attorney's office, authorities stated "insufficient evidence" exists to charge Turner with the crime. The arrest was based upon an eyewitness statement. During the course of the investigation, authorities say inconsistencies were found in the eyewitness' statement.

Police were called to the 400 block of East Waggoner Street. The call came in around 2:30 Sunday afternoon, of multiple shots fired.

Police said, Isaiah Wiley, 21, was lying in the street when they arrived. Wiley was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital before being transported to Carle Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
