Baby Brenna Turns One on Wednesday

Springfield - She's a baby who has continued to beat the odds, and on Sunday, family and friends helped Baby Brenna Westlake celebrate her first birthday.

Brenna Westlake lives with a rare skin disorder called Harlequin Ichthyosis that causes the body to produce too much skin that the body can't shed fast enough.

On Wednesday Brenna will turn one, and for her parents, the last year wasn't always an easy one, but they told WAND News it's been a blessed one.

"To have made it through the last year with all the ups and downs that we've had, and to now be able to celebrate christmas together, in our home instead of at the hospital it's just incredible," said Brenna's mother Courtney Westlake.
