DECATUR - A man accused of leading police on a high speed chase that ended with a cyclist seriously hurt entered a "not guilty" plea in court Wednesday morning.
Police say they tried to pull over Montez Williams, 32, two weeks ago but he allegedly took off, leading police on a chase that reached speeds higher than 90 miles per hour.
Police say Williams then hit Shane Lewis, 33, who was on his bicycle at the intersection of Garfield and 24th streets.
Lewis suffered a fractured skull, broken jaw, and bleeding on the brain.
Police also say Williams had marijuana in his system at the time of the crash.
