Salvation Army Behind Year-End Goals

CHAMPAIGN - The Salvation Army of Champaign County says it needs $80,000 in donations to reach its goal for 2012.

Major Tom McDowell, Salvation Army Corps Officer says they hoped to raise $456,000 this year, up six percent from 2011. While they have not met that goal, they have received more than two percent of the past year's total.

Other local Salvation Armys say they need more donations, too. The branch in Decatur hopes to raise $70,000 and in Springfield, more is needed to reach the year-end goal.

Donations can be made at branches or online. The Red Kettle Campaign to donate ends on Christmas Eve.
