
Springfield – Dependents of Springfield City employees, that are in civil unions could soon be covered under insurance.
Starting March 1st those employees will be eligible for benefits if approved. A city health insurance committee decided last year to provide benefits to dependents of employees in civil unions.
The decision was ruled invalid by a judge because it was decided in a so called illegal meeting. Alderman will debate the health care plan on Thursday night.
