Mayor Praises Aurora Officers for being Homicide-Free in 2012

AURORA- The mayor of Aurora wants to give a $500 bonus to police officers.

This is after Illinois' second-largest city went a year without a homicide.

The mayor proposed bonuses for all 289 sworn officers, according to the Arlington Heights Daily Herald.

Some 200,000 people live in the Chicago suburb.

This is the first time the city was homicide-free since 1946.
