Urbana – Another Red Cross Volunteer is headed to New York to help with Hurricane Sandy disaster relief.
Eileen Borgia of Urbana left Monday morning. She will drive an emergency response vehicle to deliver food and clean up kits to disaster victims.
It has been more than two months since Hurricane Sandy unleashed its fury of water and wind on parts of the upper northeast. One place hit particularly hard was Ocean County, New Jersey.
On Monday residents there were allowed to move back into their homes, as long as authorities say those home are safe. While the news means progress in clean-up and rebuilding, there is still plenty of work to be done.
