Four Million Gallons of Water Damage Building

Urbana – A giant water leak at a building under construction on the U of I campus is being fixed.

The leak happened over the weekend when about four million gallons of water rushed into the basement of the building. The cause of the leak and how much it will cost to fix it is unknown at this time.

The water came from a chilled water pipe in the new electrical and computer engineering building, under construction off Wright Street just south of Beckman Institute in Urbana.
