Mechanicsburg – A central Illinois Police Chief who is under investigation will now retire.

Wednesday evening, Buffalo-Mechanicsburg Police Chief William Hill resigned. Hill was on paid leaver after a complaint was filed.

The city would not say what the complaint involved, but did say Hill's actions were not criminal. Hill was Chief since 2004.
