Champaign – Student fees and housing rates will go up slightly for next year at the U of I.
The rise will increase student fees by one percent for the Urbana campus, raising the total to $2,916 for 2013-2014. Those fees pay services, such as campus recreation, library and information technology, health services, and many more things.
Housing rates will go up by three percent, making the rate $9,979 for the 2013-2014 academic year. These increases are recommended by the University of Illinois Trustees.
The tuition hike proposal has not been released yet, but the full U of I Boars of Trustees will vote on that later this month.
