Springfield – Firefighters are investigating a fire that claimed the lives of four men last night.

Springfield Fire Chief Ken Fustin says Firefighters were called out to 901 North 9th Street just minutes before midnight. Firefighters found four men dead inside the home between the ages 14 and 60 years old.

First Responders were able to rescue one woman who escaped through a second floor window. 59 year old, Jacqueline Parnell, was rescued from the roof in the back of the home. Parnell is in critical but stable condition at Memorial Medical Center

Firefighters say this is the worst fatal fire since 1987.  Two of the victims were students at Lanphier High School.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and Springfield Firefighters are investigating. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
