Choirs Burst into Song for Kids

DECATUR-Nearly a dozen choirs lent their voices this Sunday afternoon to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Hundreds of singers from local churches....packed the Tabernacle Baptist church for the fifth annual Festival of Choirs. The audience hearing a variety of music: spirituals, uplifting songs, and even tunes from a children's choir.

Organizers say it's a great success because it brings so many people from different backgrounds together to help local kids.

"It's a really wonderful demonstration of diversity," says Zach Shields of BBBS.   "We've got a lot of different churches, a lot of different worship styles and backgrounds coming together here the week that we honor Martin Luther King junior."

The event rakes in thousands, that money helping roughly 250 kids per year in the Decatur area.
