Springfield – A bill that has
gained a lot of attention around the state, illegal immigrants can now purchase
a license.
Governor Quinn signed a measure on
Sunday. Illinois
is the fourth state to allow undocumented immigrants to get a driver's license.
There are some restrictions put in place
with having a license. The license cannot be used as a form of identification. Undocumented
immigrants cannot use the licenses to buy a firearm, register to vote, or board
a plan.
Supporters say it is a public safety
measure, but opponents fear that it will contribute to fraud.
