Still hope for Taylorville Energy Center

Taylorville – There are still hopes to open a Central Illinois Energy Center.

Tenaskas Taylorville Energy Center is getting some support from some new state senators. The plant would convert coal into clean natural gas to generate enough electricity to power about six hundred thousand central Illinois homes.

However, the project remains in limbo because the General Assembly did not vote to approve it during the spring legislative session. Both Andy Manar and Sue Scherer are in favor of building the facility.
