Springfield – The Springfield School Board could cut over six million in their budget.

The district has faced a major budget shortfall, and they are dealing with eleven million dollar deficit in the education fund. The school board will meet Monday at Southeast High School to talk about cutting several teaching positions, support staff, increasing both athletic fees, and Driver's Education fees for students.

A tax increase is not part of the plan to generate more money for the district.
