Vacant apartment building to be demolished

Urbana – The Urbana City Council voted to tear down a vacant apartment complex in the city.

The Lierman Apartments Complex will be demolished this spring. The building has been sitting empty for a year, and the city says it has caused problems with crime.

Just in December a major drug sweep near the buildings landed dozens behind bars.
