CHICAGO - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin says there is an easy way to fix a problem many veterans going to college face.
In a news release, Durbin said many veterans are having trouble establishing residency and qualifying for in-state tuition.
More than 20,000 veterans have had to pay the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition; these costs, in Durbin's words, can be "dramatic."
Durbin's proposal will provide up to $18,077 for veterans attending public colleges.
