Early Voting Begins Today in Race to Replace Jackson's Congressional Seat
CHICAGO -- Early voting begins today in the race to replace former Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior. Voters in the state's Second Congressional District may cast early ballots through February 23rd. The primary's February 26th.
Jackson resigned in November, citing health problems and acknowledging that he's under federal investigation, reportedly for misusing campaign money.
Last week, NBC Chicago reported Jackson is going to take a plea deal for misuse of campaign money.
Under the reported terms of the agreement, Jackson is making a blind plea deal, meaning it will be up to a federal judge to decide Jackson's fate.
