Police looking for robbery suspect


Decatur – Police need help finding a man who robbed a woman while shopping at Walgreens.


On Friday, at approximately 10:25pm, a 54 year old female was shopping at Walgreens, located at 1311 N. Rt. 48, when she was robbed of her purse inside the store.  The victim stated as she was shopping, a W/M approached her from behind and forcefully took her purse from her.  The suspect then fled the business on foot with the purse.  The victim then chased the suspect out of the business.  As the suspect was fleeing the business on foot, he fell to the ground and lost control of the victim's purse.  The suspect left the purse on the ground after falling, and continued to flee the area on foot.


The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 6'00"-6'02", 180-200 pounds.


Video surveillance at the business captured an image of the suspect, which is provided with this press release.  If anyone knows the identity of the suspect, please contact detectives at the Decatur Police Department at 424-2734, or Crime Stoppers at 423-TIPS.
