Urbana – The Urbana City
Council will meet tonight, and could talk about tweaking the way it goes about
giving money to local non-profits.
The city has about 313 thousand dollars
to donate toward social services. That money comes from the city, Cunningham Township, and a federal grant.
In the past some of the organizations
have included Family Services of Champaign
County, The Center for
Women in Transition, and Crisis Nursery.
The council will talk about whether to
continue choosing those agencies, or to change the way non-profits are chosen.
