The Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation (CCBF) will partner with American Girl® on Tuesday evening, March 5, 2013 to host its fourth annual charity fundraising event at the company’s dreamlike three-story, flagship store in New York City. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of American Girl®, all costs will be underwritten to ensure that 100% of the proceeds go directly to CCBF.
From 6-8pm, American Girl Place will close its doors for CCBF supporters to enjoy an exclusive evening of family fun. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will provide access to the entire store and American Girl’s most popular experiences, including a photo session at the Photo Studio, a special doll hairdo at the Doll Hair Salon, a “Creativitee” Doll Tee, and a special scavenger hunt. Guests will be able to feast on kid-friendly hors d’oeuvres, choose from a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and indulge in a dessert bar featuring mouth-watering treats. Attendees will also have the chance to enter a raffle to win a variety of popular American Girl dolls including this year’s doll of the year Saige. To complete this fantasy experience, each child will take home a goody bag featuring American Girl products.
For over 60 years, CCBF has been proud to support the extraordinary team of doctors and researchers of the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center. CCBF’s support has attracted and retained a group of world-renowned experts on the treatment of multiple pediatric blood disorders and cancers, including hemophilia, sickle-cell anemia and leukemia. Our researchers have received international recognition for their work and are on the cusp of breakthroughs predicted to change the way the medical community treats children with cancer and blood diseases. Each year, our physicians treat more than 1,000 children through more than 10,000 inpatient and outpatient visits. No child is ever turned away for services, regardless of his or her ability to pay.
