Grant Awarded to Help People At-Risk of Foreclosure

CHAMPAIGN - Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced a plan today to reduce the number of foreclosures in McLean and Champaign counties.

At the U of I on Tuesday, Madigan said that a grant of $403,271 was awarded to the school's College of Law Community Preservation Clinic.

The Clinic allows law students to serve as legal representatives for those facing foreclosure. Madigan calls it a "win-win" in that students receive legal experience while helping the community.
