CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- University of Illinois students will soon have a chance to decide whether they want to pay more to upgrade Assembly Hall.
They will vote next month whether to pay a $25.00 fee to raise funds to help pay for renovations.
The fee will reportedly raise about $2,100,000 per year. The estimated cost for the entire renovation is $160,000,000.
Students already pay $1,433.00 in fees every semester, including $544 for Assembly Hall and other fee-supported services. A $34.00 fee helps pay off completed renovations at Memorial Stadium.
The measure is on the ballot for campus elections on March 5-6.
