Wireless technology coming to Champaign schools

Champaign – The Champaign School Board approves a plan to put wireless technology throughout the district.

At Monday's meeting the board voted unanimously for the plan. It will provide a centrally controlled network placing wireless access points in each classroom in the district.

The Technology Director says it is a big step toward anytime, anywhere learning for students. The project will cost over 750 thousand, and will be paid for by the money collected from the second batch of working cash bonds approved earlier this month.

The installation will begin this summer.
