Lovington skate park reaches donations goal

Lovington – An end is finally in sight for a family wanting to memorialize a young life cut short.

The family of 8 year old, Dakota Hoffman wanted to build a skate park as a memorial in the small town of Lovington.  The organization raised enough money through donations.

The group wrote this on their Facebook page yesterday afternoon before the board meeting to approve the plans "We are excited to announce that the money has been raised for the skate part!! Thank you to everyone that contributed and helped the last month. We appreciate every one of you! Tonight is the village board meeting. We need all the prayers we can get that the board will vote yes to proceed with the skate park. Anyone who would like to attend is encouraged to do so."

The village approved the plans and will now be providing the group with extra funds.  The park is expected to be open this summer.  If you would like to follow the skate parks progress like them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LovingtonSkateParkRummageBakeSale?ref=ts&fref=ts
