Clinton firefighters, along with help from Kenny, Wapella, and Maroa, firefighters spent about five hours on scene last night. They were called to the 2 hundred block of South Elm Street, around 6:15 Tuesday evening.
The family escaped unharmed, but the house is a total loss. The Red Cross provided care to nearly 30 firefighters who were on scene. The man who lived in the home was a physical education teacher.
