Decatur – A Decatur man is behind bars after firing a gun, when asked to leave a party.

Decatur Police say 26 year old, Edgar George Junior walked into a home in the 13 hundred block of Forest Street. George stayed at the residents for a while until he was asked to leave because he was arguing with others in home.

One woman asked him to leave and he became physical with her, pushing her into a wall. Another woman was pushed to the floor, when she asked him to leave. The two women stated that George had to be physically removed from the home by others.

Once outside George displayed a small black firearm, aimed it in the air, and shot the gun. George does not have a valid FOID card. On further investigation it was found that George is also a felon.

George faces possession of a weapon by a felon, reckless discharge of a firearm, along with other charges.
