Springfield – A possible jump in Springfield sales tax could help improve city streets.

The jump is an idea from Mayor Mike Huston, to help improve city streets, sidewalks, and sewers. Right now it is just an idea to raise taxes by 1 percent bringing it from 8 to 9 percent.

If the idea comes to fruition, then Mayor Mike Houston will possibly present it to City Council next Tuesday.
