Champaign – There is an extra push for the city to pay homeowners when they have sewer repairs.

Currently the city pays homeowners up to three thousand dollars when pipes become clogged under city property. Some council members are pushing for more.

Last night a tentative approval was agreed on to cover 75 percent of the cost or up to 45 hundred.

A final vote is expected next week.
