Springfield – A solution on the state's pension crisis could come soon.

A senate committee has advanced two proposals to fix the pension problem. Both plans delay the cost of living increases, pushes back the retirement age for some, and calls for more employee contributions.

However, in case they are deemed unconstitutional there is a back up plan, including increased contributions, and some reduced benefits. The motion now moves to the senate floor.
