Third graders try saving courthouse

MT. PULASKI -- A piece of history is starting to fall apart.  But some local kids are stepping in to make a difference.

Mount Pulaski Grade School's third graders are raising money to help save the town's courthouse, where Abe Lincoln practiced law.

Classmate Delaney Howard hopes repairs can keep Illinois history alive.

"We just want it to stay here so when we're older, we can show our kids what we've done," Howard said. "And show how kids can actually make a difference...not just adults."

To help, donations can be mailed to:
Third Grade Class
Mt. Pulaski Grade School
119 N. Garden
Mt. Pulaski, IL 62548

Please make checks payable to The Courthouse Foundation.

The deadline is April 5.
