Police arrest a man allegedly connected in a shooting
Decatur – Police arrest a man allegedly connected to a shooting back in January.
22 year old Reco Owens was taken into custody. Owens told police he was not involved in the shooting and did not know anything about it. Police conducted interviews about Owens involvement with the shooting. According to a witness Owens made statements about his knowledge of the shooting.
Owens was allegedly talking about one of the subjects from the victim's location that had a gun, and was pointed out to the group responsible for the shooting. According to police, statements allegedly made by Owens match the statement of the victim who was shot.
Police say 21 year old Rafael Kennedy, Junior was shot in the five hundred block of South Oakland Avenue back in January. He later showed up at a hospital with a minor gunshot wound, but he did recover.
Also, 25 year old Kameron Farrington was charged with aggravated battery, among other charges for the shooting.
