FORSYTH - Two people Macon County Sheriff Tom Schneider calls "wannabe criminals" are now in custody thanks to quick reaction by law enforcement.
It began when at around 5:30 Sunday evening off Hickory Point Drive in Forsyth. Schneider said, a 17-year-old and a 24-year-old went into Midwest Cellular AT&T and robbed people at gunpoint.
Deputies approached the men near the scene of the crime and recovered the gun used in the robbery.
"Outstanding work by the patrol division led to the very quick apprehension of two wannabe criminals that preyed upon six employees and patrons," said Schneider. These criminals posed a significant risk to society and their method of operation is indicative of big city gang members."
