Award for information leading to an arrest for Tuscola Cemetery damages
Tuscola - Douglas County Crimestoppers has received an anonymous donation of $5,000 to be awarded to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) responsible for the damage to property at the Tuscola Township Cemetery located on U.S. Highway 36 at South Prairie Street, Tuscola, Illinois 61953.
Sometime during the evening hours of April 2, 2013, unknown subject(s) toppled approximately 16 headstones from graves at the Township Cemetery. During the evening hours of April 6, 2013, unknown subject(s) toppled 40 headstones from graves at the Township Cemetery. In addition to the damage to the headstones, ceramic vases and statutes were also vandalized.
Anyone with information related to the damage which occurred at the Tuscola Township Cemetery is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers at 800-280-8316. Callers do not have to give their names and callers are eligible for the $5,000 reward if the information provided by the caller results in the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).
