Decatur – A small private school in Decatur was on lock down for about 90 minutes Thursday morning.
The principal at Our Lady of Lourdes says a teacher and a couple students spotted two men outside the school with a long barreled handgun. The teacher stated that the men walked away to the south.
Because staff and administrators did not know if there was going to be a threat, the school was put on lock down and police were notified of the situation.
Police say Jimmy Gibson was located and admitted to having a BB gun outside of the school. The gun was recovered and matched the disruption given by the teacher.
The school re-opened a short time later. No one was hurt.
