Christopher Harris' Murder Trial to Begin

PEORIA, Illinois - The trial for the first of two brothers charged in the slayings of a central Illinois family is set to begin Monday in Peoria. Jury selection in Christopher Harris' trial could start as soon as Tuesday.

Christopher Harris and his brother, Jason Harris, have pleaded not guilty to murder in the September 2009 beating deaths of Raymond Gee, 46, his wife Ruth Gee, 39, Austin Gee, 11, Dillen Constant, 14, and Justina Constant, 14.

Tabitha Gee, then 3, survived.

The brothers are accused of entering the home with the intent of sexually assaulting one daughter and robbing the family.

Christopher Harris, now 34, and his brother Jason were each charged with more than 50 counts of murder.

Harris' defense team filed a self-defense claim in August.
