Manchester – Friends and family remembered the five people murdered in Manchester last week.
It looked like nearly everyone in the small village came out Sunday night to honor the lives of those lost. People lit the wicks of their candles, while Manchester's two churches led the ceremony.
Pastors said a prayer and held a moment of silence. A cross was made to remember the victims and to help the community find peace after the murders. Manchester Baptist Church Pastor, Larry Balthis told WAND pray is helping heal the community "It's a matter of praying for each other and encouraging one another and just saying, 'hey, it's alright,' and we're going to go forward and we're not going to let this destroy our community."
The pastor also said that the town will return to the peaceful quiet community it was before the murders. The shooter Rick Odell Smith was shot and killed by police in a shot out.
Evangelist Franklin Graham prayed on a sidewalk outside the Pentagon Thursday after his invitation to a prayer service inside was withdrawn because of comments that insulted people of other religions. More>>
