One taken into custody for stabbing death


Effingham – Police are investigating a stabbing death that took place early Tuesday morning.

Around 2 a.m., officers were called to 109 Lincoln Street, in reference to a stabbing. 52 year old, Ted Debany was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

51 year old Charles Douglas Yoder, has been taken into custody for the stabbing incident. Formal charges are pending.

An autopsy showed preliminary indications of cause of death were consistent with injuries that happened during the altercation.

Effingham Police continue to investigate.
