Springfield – If you are looking to get your foid card here in Illinois, you will be waiting quite a while.
The Illinois State Police say they received more than 28 thousands applications for firearms owner identification cards in April. That does not include the 76 thousand applications they already have.
State law requires that applications for cards must be approved or denied within 30 days. However, State Police Lt. Darrin Clark says that the Foid Department is understaffed making it hard to meet deadlines.
