Ted’s Garage Restaurant Will Not Reopen For Business
Owner elects to forgo rebuilding of restaurant after it was destroyed by fire
Clinton, Ill. -- Ted's Garage will not reopen its doors after being destroyed by a fire on March 31, 2013.
Scott Baum, the restaurant's owner, said in a new release that he will not rebuild the restaurant despite calls from the public for him to do so.
Baum "...felt that the task of relocating or rebuilding (Ted's Garage) would be too cumbersome too cumbersome to undertake at this point in time,"
according to the release.
"I cannot allocate the appropriate amount of time or energy to rebuild Ted's to its full potential," Baum said. "I am deeply saddened by the loss of the restaurant, but rebuilding is simply not an option."
Anyone who purchased or received a Ted's Garage gift card will be reimbursed by check for the remaining balance. All who currently have a gift card are asked to mail it to the following address:
PO BOX 657
Clinton, Illinois 61727
The lot previously occupied by the restaurant will be turned into additional parking for Baum Chevrolet Buick as the dealership expands its storefront.
