Rantoul – A man wanted for a 2011 shooting has been arrested in Southern Illinois.
Police caught 21 year old, Jayshawn Jackson in Murphysboro Monday, nearly two years after the shooting. Jackson is charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. He is now in the Champaign County jail on a one million dollars bond.
The shooting happened outside the Colonial Liquor store, in Rantoul in July of 2011. 30 year old, Dwayne Perkins was shot sever times, but survived.
If convicted Jackson could face up to 80 years in prison.
