Decatur – Fire fighters were called out to Route 36 and 70th Street in Long Creek.

Around 40 firefighters from five departments were called to put the fire out.  One of the Long Creek Firefighters drove by the home around 10 Thursday night, and saw the unoccupied home on fire. A neighbor says they saw lightning hit the house earlier in the day, and Long Creek Fire Department determined the cause to be lightning.

The home is a total loss, but luckily no one was hurt.
