Track meet in jeopardy of coming to a close

Posted:

Taylorville – The Taylorville elementary schools' track meet has been around for 43 years.

Students from 4th and 5th grades took to the track today. Because of school restructuring the tradition is in jeopardy.

Taylorville Schools Superintendent, Greg Fuerestenau says this event is too important to students to do without. "We're definitely going to move forward with plans, and it may look a little bit different, but this is an important thing for the students of Taylorville school district, and we'll continue to do the right thing for kids."
