Peoria -- Jurors are expected to return to court in the trial of a man charged with beating five members of a central Illinois to death in 2009.
Jurors were given Monday off in the trial of Christopher Harris. Judge Scott Drazewski and lawyers worked through a defense request to suppress a video of an interview police conducted with Harris before his arrest. Defense lawyers eventually dropped their request.
Harris is charged with murdering Rick and Ruth Gee and three of their children. Harris admits killing one child. But he says he did so after walking in as the teen boy killed his own family in their home in the small town of Beason.
The trial started in early May and is expected to continue at least into next week.
