Springfield – The Illinois Senate
approves a sex education bill.
Senators passed the proposal yesterday,
which would revamp sex education in Illinois
public schools. The bill would have schools include information about
contraception and STD's, while still stressing abstinence.
Current state law says schools should
focus on abstinence and schools are not required to teach sex ed. The house approved
the proposal last month and Quinn says he supports it.
