Illini Union Food Court to say goodbye to chicken sandwich chain
Urbana - This Friday, May 31, Chick-fil-A will officially close its doors after four and a half years serving the University of Illinois campus in the Illini Union Food Court.
"As a result of Chick-fil-A's closing, we will be implementing a nationally known vendor that ranks as one of our students' top five choices based on a recent survey we conducted," Scott McCartney, Senior Associate Director of Retail Operations, explained.
Chick-fil-A is one of several food vendors at the Illini Union Food Court. With options that range from Asian cuisine to ice cream and smoothies to pizza, the Food Court consistently attracts a large crowd due to the variety of choices.
McCartney stated, "We felt it was important to solicit feedback from our students and select food vendors that best meet their preferences."
More information will come following the announcement of the new vendor.
