Lawmakers approve tax incentives to lure fertilizer plant
Springfield – Lawmakers went home Friday night, failing to get several of the big issues passed before the spring session ended.
One thing they did get done, the senate approved as much as 35-million dollars in tax incentives to lure a fertilizer plant to Tuscola. Cronus Chemical is still deciding between a Douglas County location or building in Iowa.
The house already approved the tax break offer, now it is up to Governor Quinn to sign it.
