Decatur – Easter Seals will be taking applications all day tomorrow to help homeowners lower their home energy costs.

To apply for the Weatherization Program just stop by Easter Seals located at 2715 N. 27th Street across from the Caterpillar plant. Applications will be accepted on Thursday, June 6th from 8 a.m. until 5p.m.

The home weatherization program is available to moderate-income customers of Ameren Illinois living in Macon County.  Home weatherization, which typically includes energy-efficient measures such as insulation and caulking, helps lower energy costs and makes homes more comfortable throughout the year.

Applicants should bring the following information:

Proof of home ownership with the home's address shown (e.g., mortgage payment stub, deed, tax bill)

Proof of Income (W2 form, pay check stubs)

An Ameren Illinois bill showing home address

Mobile homes and rental homes do not qualify for the program.

Questions may be directed to the Easter Seals office at 217-429-1052, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
